AWARE

The AWARE Program is a collaborative effort by law enforcement officers, educators, students, parents, and the community to offer an educational program in the classroom to prevent or reduce drug abuse, bullying, and violent behaviors among youth. The emphasis is to help students recognize and resist the many direct and subtle pressures that influence them to experiment with alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, inhalants, and other abused drugs. As well, the program works to teach youth to refrain from bullying or other violent or criminal behaviors. This program is conducted with middle school aged groups.
